How to root tecno L9 plus running Android v7.0 and install TWRP recovery

Good news to all tecno L9 plus users out there, you can now root your tecno L9 plus running Android 7.0 free of charge.

Thanks to the hovatek.com team for releasing this great tutorial.

For those searching for how to root tecno L9 plus without PC, what I can say is that this phone can't be rooted without the use of PC any other method apart from what am posting here won't work.



Now let's go to the tutorial

How to root tecno L9 plus

• Dump your firmware in scatter format using Miracle Box @ see here
• Download SuperSU 2.78 @ donload here and save to both phone storage and SD card
• Create a new folder named Hovatek on your PC
• Copy preloader.bin from your Miracle Box backup into the Hovatek folder
• Download Philz for Tecno L9 Plus@ download here
• Copy the Philz recovery.bin and scatter file from the Philz zip file downloaded above into the Hovatek folder, making peloader.bin, scatter file and recovery.bin (Philz) in the folder
• Flash the preloader.bin and recovery.bin using Miracle Box @ see here
• Boot the phone into recovery mode (Vol up + Power) after flashing
  In Philz recovery, you use the Volume buttons to navigate and Power button to select
• Select Install Zip
• Navigate to the location of the SuperSU2.78.zip on the SD Card and select it
  Wait till flashing is complete
• If you are prompted to fix root, select No
• Reboot the phone normally
• Confirm Root by installing and running Root Checker @ download here
