Mediatek adds helio x23 and x27 processors to its helio lineup

Chinese SOC maker mediatek, has now built on the success of the helio x20 and x25 by releasing two new powerful processors.



Although there might not be as impressive as the recently unvielled helio x30, they are still expected to fit in to some affordable flagship devices.

Built on the older 20nm process, both helio x23 and x27 comes with tri-cluster deca-core chips.

Their CPU configurations and frequencies are:

MediaTek Helio X23

2x Cortex-A72 at 2.3GHz
4x Cortex-A53 at 1.85GHz
4x Cortex-A53 at 1.4GHz


MediaTek Helio X27

2x Cortex-A72 at 2.6GHz
4x Cortex-A53 at 2.0GHz
4x Cortex-A53 at 1.6GHz

Both processors Come with ARM Mali-T880, with clock speed of 780mhz in the helio x23 and 875MHz in the helio x27.
Mediatek claims the new processors offers 20% more in terms of processing speed.

Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Operating Officer at MediaTek, Jeffrey Ju commented on the release, saying:

“The MediaTek Helio platform fulfills the diverse needs of device makers. Based on the success of MediaTek Helio X20 and X25, we are introducing the upgraded MediaTek Helio X23 and X27. The new SoCs support premium dual camera photography and provide best in-class performance and power consumption.”
