As facebook continues to develop it's network, more feature has been added, the latest which is live audio mode , facebook live audio allows you to go live just like live video feature.
This feature is not yet out for everyone, I think by early 2017 it should be available to all facebook user.
Facebook says that this live audio will be of help in areas where you don't have good network connection to use the live video feature.
Just as with a live video on Facebook, listeners can discover live audio content in News Feed, ask questions and leave reactions in real time during the broadcast, and easily share with their friends.

Facebook says that people often like to listen to audio while doing other things; people using Android devices will be able to continue listening to a Live Audio broadcast even if they leave the Facebook app or lock their phones, while iOS listeners will be able to continue listening as they browse other parts of Facebook.
